GWS Build Pty Ltd is a locally owned and operated residential building company based in Queensland, serving the families and communities around us. Since October 2016 we have been doing one thing properly: building and improving homes for people who intend to live in them, love them and look after them for years.
We are not a volume builder and we do not try to be. We are a small, hands-on company that takes on a limited number of projects at a time, so that every client deals directly with their builder and every build gets the attention it deserves. That is a deliberate choice, and it is the reason most of our work now comes from referrals — past clients sending their friends, neighbours and family our way.
The company was established in October 2016 by a builder who had spent years on job sites watching how projects went wrong — not because trades did not care, but because nobody was taking responsibility for the whole picture. The founding idea was simple: run a small building company where the person who quotes your job is the person who builds your job.
A decade on, that idea has not changed. We quote carefully, we price honestly, we document everything, and we are on site. When we say a build will take nine months, the program we hand you shows how — and when we say a variation will cost a certain amount, it is in writing before the work starts.
Our promise is straightforward: quality workmanship, transparent pricing, direct communication and a build process you actually enjoy. It is not a complicated formula, but it is one we have never been tempted to change.
We deliberately focus on three areas of residential construction. Depth beats breadth: specialising means we know the trades, the suppliers, the approvals and the pitfalls of each type of project before we arrive on site.
Custom homes designed around your block, your budget and the way your family lives — from first sketch to a meticulous handover.
Explore 02Second storeys, rear additions and expanded living areas that blend so seamlessly they feel original.
Explore 03Kitchens, bathrooms and whole-home transformations with quality workmanship and honest pricing.
ExploreThere is no sales office, no call centre and no account manager between you and the person building your home. Questions get answered by the person who knows the answers, usually the same day.
Every project runs on a documented schedule with weekly updates. You will know which stage your build is in, what happens next, and which decisions are needed from you and when — because the biggest cause of delays is a decision nobody made.
Our tenders are fixed-price, built on proper site investigation, with every allowance itemised. Variations are documented and signed before work proceeds. Your final account should never be a surprise.
A tidy site is a safe site and a sign of a builder in control. We treat your property — and your neighbours' — with respect, from the first delivery to the last skip bin.
A builder's reputation is only as strong as the last home they handed over, and a local builder lives with theirs. When your builder works in the same community where you shop, where your kids go to school and where their next client lives, the incentive to get every detail right is built into the business model.
Being local also means something practical: we know the soil conditions in the area, the councils and their certifiers, the suppliers with the good yards and the trades who turn up. Ten years of those relationships are built into every quote we write and every program we run. When you engage a local builder, you are not just buying a build — you are buying a network that already knows how to build well right here.
And after handover, we are still nearby. If something needs attention in twelve months, we are a short drive away, not a phone tree in another state. That proximity is why we fix issues quickly, and it is why our clients are comfortable recommending us to the people they care about.
Tell us about your project and we will help you take the first step — with honest advice and a clear, fixed-price proposal.
